ABSTRACT

This Reading of the Epistle to the Ephesians has attempted a number of things. There are grounds for believing that the epistle was written by a Pauline disciple soon after the events of AD 70. This makes it an early pseudepigraph, which is consonant both with its evident pseudonymity, and with its attestation in the Fathers and presence in the earliest canonical lists; it was such an early creation that its precise origin was obscured by the time of the earliest lists of Christian scriptures.
