ABSTRACT

The empirical results presented in Tables 10.2,10.3 and 10.4 may be regarded as providing a rough and preliminary indication of how young people's lifestyles are structured.

There are a large number of different relations present in the tables, and these can be interpreted on the basis of several different theoretical perspectives. I shall briefly discuss three such theoretical perspectives: a classand status-oriented perspective, a gender perspective and a human values perspective.
