ABSTRACT
Advances in biotechnology over the past two decades or so have brought in their train novel legal and ethical problems. In particular, the use of human tissues and cells raises some of the most complex and sensitive issues, none more so in the commercial environment which the biotechnology industry inhabits than the questions of property and ownership.
