ABSTRACT
Some FE establishments have identified the APL process as central to their operation, recognising its function as spanning the period between an individual deciding to undertake a learning experience or obtain a qualification, and the start of the learning period. Such a definition of APL broadens it from a narrow service restricted to those students capable of obtaining full accreditation for NVQs, to an entitlement for all students.
