ABSTRACT
We now move on to the area of testing individual children through their mother tongue. This chapter follows a case-study approach to two children, Punjabi-speakers, newly arrived from India. As the account makes clear, a lot of information was collected about the children from a variety of contexts. This information included responses when they were tested on certain maths concepts using Punjabi.
