ABSTRACT
The pictures which illustrate this, and the following chapter, exemplify many of the themes of the book. This is a case study of anorexia in a male patient. However, although this is an important aspect of the story, it is not all. In Chapter 2 I discussed some of the developmental theories relating to the mother/son transference as it manifests between female therapist and male patient. In that chapter the focus was the desire of the female therapist. In this chapter the theme is the desire of the male patient.
