ABSTRACT
Anorexia is an extreme form of denial of desire. The desire for food and so nourishment of the body is transformed, through a supreme effort of selfcontrol, into abstinence. Desire pre-supposes an Other towards whom there is a movement; thus, it is to do with relationship. Anorexia is a turning away from the Other and, through a false sense of power, it is a movement away from life and towards death. In the case of Carlos this will become evident in the pictures he made during the process of his treatment.
