ABSTRACT
Most of the buildings which are used as residential care centres are in some ways unsuitable. They were built for another purpose; they are old and need modernising; or they are new but badly designed. I don’t think any building of any sort ever exactly suits its use. The use of a building changes according to the needs of its inhabitants and it evolves over time.
