ABSTRACT

Though this second position may be articulated rarely, its rationale is clear. In fact, Ames et a. (1952) outline objections to the use of the test with preschoolers at the beginning of their book because an appeciation of their work requires that those arguments be countered. Three points they address are worth considering in detail because they highlight technical issues that divide those authorities who are prepared to give the Rorschach to young children and allow the views of those who oppose the use of the test with this age group altogether to be seen as a logical extension of a wider body of opinion.
