ABSTRACT

They carted the pots out to the crossroad. Whoever went by took from them, as much as a hand could hold, but the money still never lessened. Then they sent a petition to the ruler and this is what he decreed: in a certain town there was a road that went round about for about fifty versts, but if it were to be laid straight, then it would only be five versts and so the ruler ordered a straight bridge to be constructed. So they constructed this bridge of five versts and with this the pots were depleted.
