ABSTRACT

There lived a peasant and his wife. And they had many, many children. But then she brought forth two more at once. But the peasant didn't want anymore children, he had nothing to feed them with. And they were both girls, too. And he didn't like little girls. So she [his wife] said to the peasant, "Go, peasant, take this child from me." And she quietly added to herself, "Perhaps the undergroundt man will take at least one." No sooner had she said it than one baby girl disappeared as if she'd never even been there! So alright, she didn't say a word to her husband.
