ABSTRACT
In Chapter 1 I referred caustically to the negative bias in research on schizophrenia which propels researchers forwards in the hunt for the schizophrenic deficit. Claridge (1985:152-3) also bemoans this sad state of affairs. There is however a parallel negative bias in research on the, perhaps related, area of sexual variations.
