ABSTRACT

The production of a corporate plan can be divided into six major stages, which are described here. They should be capable of adaptation to changing needs, priorities and external circumstances, ideally on an annual basis. In practice you will find that the plan will quickly become out of date as additional information and data (e.g. costs of scheme, pay awards) become available. Updating will require a similar process to the production of the initial plan, with the difference that as a sequence of plans is produced it should be possible to identify trends and build these into forward planning. For those responsible for producing the plan, familiarity with the process makes the task much easier as the sequence is developed.
