ABSTRACT
The anti-abortion demonstrations staged at medical clinics under the direction of the New Right group Operation Rescue are deeply revealing indications of the fraught relation between visibility, invisibility, and reproduction. The performances inspired by the abortion debates provide an instructive example with which to begin to explore the psychic and political investments in visibility and invisibility across both the representational and reproductive field.
