THE FORMATION OF TRIBAL SYSTEMS IN NORTHERN EUROPE, 4000-500 BC

The aim of this chapter1 is twofold: a) to model and explain long-term changes in Neolithic and Bronze Age tribal systems of northern Europe (approximately 4000-500 BC) based on regional sample (a vertical cut); and b) to unfold and explain the dynamics of the larger tribal system based on the evidence of the Nordic Bronze Age (a horizontal cut).
