ABSTRACT
Schools provide the setting in which a great deal of childhood learning takes place. Learning, unfortunately, is not confined to academic knowledge: it may also include social strategies which enable pupils to test the extent of their control on other individuals, all too often the unsuspecting teacher. Deviancy represents just one element of such behaviour, but one that has far-reaching significance if you are a new or student teacher.
