ABSTRACT
In factor analysis the original matrix of observed variables is estimated or reproduced from two other matrices: the factor pattern and the factor scores. Previous chapters have dealt with solving for factor patterns under various restrictions so that a unique solution may be found. Given the data and factor pattern, it is possible to calculate or estimate the factor scores, that is, the scores for each of the N individuals on the ƒ factors.
