ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the apparent disparity between the approach adopted by courts in relation to the family life of children of parents who are at liberty and that adopted in relation to the children of imprisoned parents. The law in this area will then be set out briefly and consideration given to some comparable statutory regimes in other jurisdictions.
