ABSTRACT

Advisers and inspectors are expected to relate to a large number of people. The major relationships are with the advisory team, teachers and the administration, but most advisers and inspectors will also have some contact with HMIs and with colleagues in other authorities and may also have contact with education committee members and with school governors. The need for this wide range of contacts takes up a lot of advisory time, but it is difficult for advisers and inspectors to work effectively without being in touch with most of them from time to time.
