ABSTRACT
Although the process of appointing staff has now been passed to governors and headteachers, advisers and inspectors are still likely to play an important part, both in advising on the process of appointment and in taking part as a member of the interviewing panel. This chapter is mainly written as advice on appointing advisers, inspectors and advisory teachers, but the process described is much the same when appointing teachers and headteachers.
