ABSTRACT

The case of Arthur Inman was presented in Chapter 1. Shneidman presented some excerpts from the diary that illustrate Inman's ruminations about suicide. There are many ways to analyze such personal documents. Here we return to the Inman case from the vantage point of the chapters on treatment in this volume. We, Leenaars and Maltsberger, will offer separate consultations on Inman's treatment. Thus, this chapter is not only a summary, but also an application of the findings presented in this volume to a single case study: Arthur Inman.
