ABSTRACT

This chapter will cover the Adlerian diagnosis, understanding, and treatment of three DSM-IV categories of the anxiety disorders (American Psychiatric Association, 1994). These are Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), and Social Phobias (SP). Diagnosis, understanding, and treatment of these problem patterns of inner and outer movement will follow the insightful conceptualizations of Alfred Adler. His wisdom is summarized succinctly in the above quotation originally published in 1933.
