ABSTRACT

Adjustment disorders and V codes are very common and are a large part of clinical practice. Psychologists enjoy working with these conditions as they often are treated successfully and seem to respond well to traditional therapeutic intervention strategies designed for higher functioning individuals . Due to the high functioning nature of the clients, they not only resolve their disrupting and distressing situation, but many also are able to become even healthier and stronger as a result of thi s problem. Successful treatment builds self-confidence and skill development, making therapy a growth-promoting situation for most clients .
