Since the publication of the first edition of this book, the most comprehensive survey on the sexual practices of American people has been published. It is the first publication of its kind since Kinsey's report in the 1940s, which, according to current research criteria, was seriously flawed . In a tour de force of scientific surveying, Robert Michael, John H. Gagnon, Edward Laumann, and Gina Kalata ( 1994) have collected information on a wide range of sexual behavior. It is a major contribution to the comprehension of sexual practices in America. Alas, there is no information about the sexual disorders.
