ABSTRACT

The aim of doing the profile is to try and give you a way of developing some feeling for the ‘structure’ of lessons. Most teachers are aware of the fact that they try to organize lessons so that different segments of the lesson create different kinds of ‘atmosphere’, and in such a way that these different segments articulate as a meaningful whole. Like a piece of music, a good lesson can have different ‘movements’ which have various, contrasting moods but which taken as a sequence form a cumulative experience.
