ABSTRACT
Relational Grammarians recognize a class of constructions that they analyse as complex at the initial stratum, but as simple in the final stratum. Consider the following pair of Spanish sentences (Aissen and Perlmutter 1983:365, orig. 1976):
[1a] Quiero mostrártelos. I:want show:thee:them ‘I want to show them to you.’
