IT is related, O auspicious King, that the Khalifah Harun al-Rashid, being once taken with weariness and finding himself in the same state of spirit which your majesty suffers at this moment, walked out upon the road which leads from Baghdad to Basrah, taking with him his wazir Jafar al-Barmaki, his favourite musician Abu Ishak, and Abu Nuwas the poet.
