ABSTRACT

Neuropsychology is the study of the relationship between brain and behaviour. The term behaviour is used here in its broadest sense to include the study of higher mental functions such as memory, language, perception, and attention, but other areas are included such as emotional and physical behaviour (motor movements). All of these areas provide chapter headings within this book that focus on how different brain mechanisms act to support function. Also, and in keeping with the author's clinical research background, there are further chapters that deal with issues regarding the recovery and rehabilitation of brain-damaged patients.
