ABSTRACT
In the previous chapter we uncovered some important differences within our sample related to social origin and education and we related these to other contemporary research on the new middle class. It appeared that the differences that were uncovered related also to occupational activities, particularly the distinctions between professionals and managers. In order to make sense of these distinctions we used Bourdieu’s conception of the habitus, economic and cultural capital.
