ABSTRACT
The American psychiatrist, Thomas Szasz, has been one of the most vociferous critics of psychiatry. He has challenged its very foundations by arguing that there is no such thing as a mental illness. But we will see that his conclusions only follow from a mistaken view of disease in general.
