ABSTRACT

Reporting on CSR The UK government recognises that CSR factors are important for an organisation’s long-term investment and viability. This recognition was behind the proposal to introduce new reporting regulations, called the Operating and Financial Review (OFR), in 2005. However, later in 2005, the government decided to repeal the requirement on quoted companies to prepare an OFR, instead requiring them to produce a Business Review. This decision was taken in the context of the government’s policy of reducing administrative burdens on organisations and took into account the evidence from consultations on narrative reporting.
