ABSTRACT

In this chapter we look back on what you have achieved while going through the change process. This is a crucial stage, but one often left out, not only by overworked managers adopting a largely reactive unplanned approach to change, but also by enthusiastic professionals keen to press on with the next strategy for change. Looking back on what has been achieved often reveals that our day-to-day perceptions underestimate the amount of change that has occurred, because it often takes place in small stages. In the same way as checklists or records of achievement help to record and focus on positives in the development of children and need to be updated and discussed regularly, organisations benefit from a positive process of looking back on change before moving on to the next cycle.
