ABSTRACT
If H.G.Wells were to reappear in London today he might be tempted to feel that the imagination of Things to Come and War of the Worlds had become reality. London appears to be a continuous building site, with cranes and new structures competing for a hegemony of space and skyline as its urban shape is transformed.
