ABSTRACT

I have sought to show above that many of the contradictions and inaccuracies which M[üllenhoff] has wished to find in the poem, are not there at all, but that the shrewd investigator has allowed himself to be blinded by his theory and has wished to find proofs for it. Apart from the particular objections, which are highly insignificant, and which I have given a few examples of but otherwise passed over, there still remain some points where real contradictions are to be found, and some of them apparently of a serious nature.
