ABSTRACT
Throughout this book we have highlighted a number of problems with schooling as it currently exists. In particular, we have discussed the failure of schools to address social inequalities and we have shown how school processes are in fact actively involved in maintaining existing inequalities in class, race, ethnicity and gender.
