ABSTRACT

Tommy was sentenced to 4 months at a detention centre at the age of 19, for supplying cannabis to fellow members of a youth club, providing him with profitable pocket money. The cannabis was probably supplied to him by a distant relative who was employed at a dockyard in the south of England. A girl in the club informed her policeman brother and an arrest was made at the club late one evening. The club leader, a professional youth worker, had suspected what was going on, but had not been able to find clear proof. The youth leader had been co-operating with a drug squad sergeant on this matter.
