ABSTRACT

Not for the first time in this publication, it must be stressed that flooring systems are the most important aspect of any purpose-built industrial building. If a floor is used, the chances are that the floor will also be abused and so bring nearer the time when serious maintenance is essential. At that point end users must be prepared to move plant and equipment, or in certain instances drastically reduce or cease production. The very contemplation of that should, to most end users, be incentive enough to carefully maintain a floor, but this is generally not the case.
