ABSTRACT
Both Freud and Jung regarded psychoanalysis as a cultural theory and practice. They both analyzed culture psychologically. Except, however, for occasional skeptical remarks about communism and socialism, which they criticized as naïvely utopian, they never had much to say about economics as an aspect of culture. Neither Freud nor Jung ever analyzed capitalism psychologically, and they never interpreted the economic unconscious.
