ABSTRACT

IF palmar skin resistance reflects behavioural arousal, as Duffy has argued (1951, 1957), then it should be affected by central depressant or stimulant drugs. There is no clear evidence on this point (Laties, 1957; Marquis et al. 9 1957) and the present experiment was therefore carried out to consider the effect which meprobamate and Doriden might have upon a number of measures of skin resistance; the results will be given in this section.
