ABSTRACT

You may have students who have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyper activity Disorder (ADD/ADHD). Collaborate with the resource teacher to help students with ADHD do well in class. Modifications to the environment, instructional presentation, and assignments, along with a positive, supportive atmosphere can help these students excel in the classroom. Children with ADHD may or may not have other learning difficulties, but most benefit from a structured, yet undemanding environment. They need large tasks broken down into sets of steps to accomplish, along with guidance in transitioning to other subjects or tasks (McIntyre, 2004).
