ABSTRACT
When you prepare for the school year and your first teaching position, you are excited about arranging and decorating your classroom, setting up learning centers, and meeting your students. Preparation includes developing curriculum units and planning classroom management; it means determining classroom procedures, rewards, routines, and rules. Being thoroughly prepared also means understanding the culture of your school, even if you do not yet have a class roster.
