ABSTRACT

The Kiss by Gustav Klimt. This colossal

painting became a pivotal point in my

appreciation of art. I was in awe of the use of

colors and organic shapes, and fell in love

with the juxtaposition of geometry with

realism. Inspired by Klimt, many of my

illustrations are created digitally using

scanned organic paper to create a textural

surface. The Fitzgeralds pays homage to

Klimt’s The Kiss by telling a love story about

two San Diego Zoo snow leopards while

paralleling the relationship of F. Scott and

Zelda Fitzgerald. I created the underpainting

using Photoshop and Painter, and then

mounted the 16 x 20-inch print to masonite.
