ABSTRACT

This book has taken a developmental approach to the principles and practice of the emergent FST framework. The first part of the book described the theoretical tenants of critical systems thinking and cultural ecofeminism and Part B discussed four cases where I had an opportunity to examine the FST principles in an applied sense. The case studies serve to demonstrate the usefulness of the principles at different stages of projects; from the design and implementation phase, during evaluation and monitoring, and in reflection and critique of socio-political and cultural research and policy. The FST framework also makes a contribution to theoretical concepts that reoccur as themes in Chapters 3 and 4. So this chapter will conclude with a set of learnings for us as practitioners, as well as making a contribution to epistemology. First we will look at the latter.
