ABSTRACT
“We inhabit a climate of trust,” Baier remarks, “as we inhabit an atmosphere and notice it as we notice air, only when it becomes scarce or polluted.” Without trust, people cannot flourish. Yet moral philosophers have paid surprisingly little attention to this topic. Baier explicates trust and argues that trust is a core feature of moral relations.
