ABSTRACT
Fa Tsang's treatise, On The Golden Lion, is a very significant—and the most popular—work of Hwa Yen Philosophy. There are two excellent English translations of it, one by Professor Derk Bodde, and one by Professor Wing-Tsit Chan. The present translation is done with grateful recognition of the aid given by these two previous works.
