ABSTRACT

Our explanation of the Fiḳh Akbar ii may have made it clear that this form of the creed, like Ash‘arite theology in general, has a double aspect. On the one hand, it is a new edition of the Waṣīyat Abi Ḥanīfa, and connected with the name and the views of that great imārn; on the other, it shows an intimate acquaintance with kalām.
