ABSTRACT

F Aced with the death of the Principal during the summer vacation, the College Council decided that an acting Principal who would not be a candidate for the permanent position should hold office until a more lasting appointment could be made. They accordingly invited Amber Blanco White, Eva Hubback's friend and brilliant contemporary who had been lecturing in psychology and ethics at Morley since 1929, to ‘hold the fort’ during the ensuing session. This she most successfully did, carrying to fruition a number of projects and initiating others. The present writer also considers that among her many services to the College was the running of a preliminary but highly selective eye over the candidates for the permanent post.
