ABSTRACT
Having looked at a selection of soliloquies, let us now try to summarize what it is that constitutes the originality of this aspect of Shakespeare's art. Are there recurrent characteristics more representative of Shakespeare than of other dramatists? In providing an answer to this question we resume the discussion of some matters raised briefly in the introduction.
