ABSTRACT

The term ‘internationalization’ reflects a popular concern of the Japanese public. An agreed definition, however, is yet to emerge. Let me start, therefore, with an economist’s perception of this term and proceed to a brief overview and evaluation of the recent performance of Japanese economic policy on the basis thereof.
