ABSTRACT
Color Is a Choice Whether you decide to control it or let it control you, color has a great
influence on your work. In the foreword to one of Andy’s favorite books
about color, If It’s Purple, Someone’s Gonna Die,1 the author Patti
Bellantoni says, “It’s a sneaky business, this thing called color. It’s
right there in front of you, but more times than not you don’t notice
what it’s doing.” Color is a big part of the photographic language, and
every time you capture an image, you make decisions about it that
will play directly to your viewers’ emotions and instincts.
